Which one are you getting?

We are thrilled at the growth of kombucha in New Zealand. From being a homebrew 10 years ago to being found in most supermarkets and dairy’s - Kiwi’s have really taken on this healthy tea drink.

But, not all kombucha is created equal. Different brands will add ingredients to extend shelf life, cheat by adding more bubbles or pasteurize to control residue alcohol content. Some brands may also be adding sugar after fermentation which makes it sweeter but higher sugar content. All of this is confusing and can detract from the natural health benefits this ancient beverage can offer.

René’s Kombucha is a live pro-biotic beverage.

It is raw, unpasteurised and has a natural fizz from the live cultures contained in every bottle.

Our unique organic tea blend of Tulsi (Holy Basil), Green tea and high quality fruit teas were chosen for their superior flavour and beneficial effects. This creates a deliciously vibrant and unique Kombucha, that we believe, is the best-tasting one out there.

This tea-based drink has been known for over 2500 years in China and Japan and was used as a daily health tonic and natural remedy.

René’s Kombucha is fermented/cultured for 6-8 days. This, and the use of our selected organic teas, assures a very pleasant flavour. René’s Kombucha is NOT pasteurised and hence contains the live cultures provided by the SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast).

Kombucha drinkers around the world have reported a massive list of ailments that have responded positively to drinking Kombucha on a regular basis.

Our first kombucha…

Farro Fresh has been stocking René’s Kombucha since May 2013. It is the first Kombucha we ever sold. Although we now stock 4 brands, René’s Kombucha is still going strong.
René has been very committed to personally run regular and frequent in-store tastings at all our shops. Over four years as a supplier, his Kombucha has developed a loyal following among the customers at our five Auckland locations.
We are very excited about the recent organic certification René’s Kombucha has received.
As a fresh food market we are supporting and relying on true artisan manufacturers and products and we're proud to support small New Zealand producers, like René’s Kombucha. We and our customers are acutely aware of the supreme quality traditionally produced foods and beverages offer.

René is by now best known in NZ for his Kombucha. Many have enjoyed his food at the last few Prana Festivals and his Raw Chef Trainings, as well as Primal Seasons. Born in Berlin, Germany, he is now living with his wife, Lydia Miller, and their dog Blossom, their goats, sheep, cattle and chickens in Maungaturoto, Northland. They are proud to now have René's Kombucha FULLY ORGANIC CERTIFIED with Organic Farm NZ.
